Cut scrapbook paper adding 1/2" around frame edge

Step 3:
Generously apply Mod Podge to front of frame & adhere cut scrapbook paper to it

Step 6:

Glue one star & "DAD" letters in formation of your choice but on top of one another

Step 5:
Glue 1 wooden star to each side of block

Step 6:
Glue bottom letter to top of wooden block making sure that gold/Sharpie written side is facing front...yes, that is my oven!

Step 7:
Glue small wooden block to wooden base and voila...one "All Star Dad" trophy ready for giving...yes, that is my fireplace!

What We've Been Up To This Past Week.

I've had a busy week & things don't look like they're slowing down anytime soon. Here's a brief re-cap in pictures of our week:

Backyard Fun.

So, the Princess & the Rugrat and I were outside this afternoon in the backyard & they were itching for things to do. We have a swing set & other "stuff" that they can use but I started thinking about other ideas that might be fun to do as the warmer weather starts to make an appearance.

Make your own bubble solution:
*1/2 cup dishwashing liquid
*4 1/2 cups water
*4 tbsp glycerine
*container with lid

1. Gently mix dish detergent, water & glycerine in container.
2. Foam may be skinned from the top before use.

Make your own sidewalk chalk:
*2 cups water
*2 cups Plaster of Paris
*2 tbsp Tempera Paint
*toilet paper tubes with taped tin foil, duct tape, etc.

1. Combine all ingredients & stir together & let stand for a few minutes.
2. Line a cookie sheet with tin foil or wax paper.
3. Pour sidewalk chalk mixture into tubes & let stand until somewhat firm.
4. Remove tubes & let dry completely.
5. Throw away remaining chalk mixture (do NOT pour down the drain!)
6. Create masterpieces that could sell on Ebay for $10,000!

I love this idea from The Idea Room for creating a A Buggy Memoir that evokes your child's play & learning!

This sounds so fun!
Using a small box, write different activities on each side (do a cartwheel, spell your name backwards, do 5 jumping jacks). Have children roll the "die" to create spontaneous fun! Use 2 or even 3 boxes for tons of silly entertainment!

Post a comment with your favourite outdoor activity...we're always looking for new ideas in this house!

They Might Be Giants.

The Princess: Mom, when I'm 20, I'm going to be HUGE!

Me: Yes, you'll be a very big girl then...

The Princess: And when I'm 20+10 (aka 30), I'll be a GIANT!

So, being over the age of 30 (not going to disclose by how much!), what does that make?

A Perfect Teacher Appreciation Craft.

I absolutely adore this idea from A Spoonful of Sugar. I love that it's cheap & crafty! I will definitely be using this to give the Princess' teacher a gift at the end of the year:

Why not try one using your favourite colours?
